Summary


Diego Pinochet holds a B.Arch and a M.Arch in the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (PUC) and a Master of Science in Architectural Studies (SMArchS) from MIT. His research is focused in the intersection of Robotics , artificial Intelligence and Digital Design for the development of Interactive Fabrication workflows that could be scaled to improve the way we design and make things for our society. Trained as an architect and pasisonate for computational technologies, I have taught in many universities in Chile in the area of digital design, programming, digital fabrication, design studios and as

advisor in several thesis projects. In 2015 I won the First Prize in the Youfab Global Creative Awards in Tokyo, Japan, with the project 'Making Gestures: A personal fabrication system´. I am the co founder of TFPS Architects, an chilean based architecture studio that won the ´ Archdaily Building of the year 2009´award for his project `Huanacu Warehouse and Offices' . I have presented my work in many conferences such as ACADIA (USA), CAADRIA (Australia), ECAADE (Belgium), CAADFUTURES (South Korea and Turkey) among others. I have shown my research in different venues in exhibitions or as an instructor in Japan, China, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Austria, Australia, USA, and Turkey.

- Developed for the company SIGNIFY a multi-user application for the control of large scale light installations in urban scenarios.

- Developed electronics mockups to test the system and present it to possible clients.

- Developed ML1D, a Visual programming platform for Large scale light design and interaction based on the use of Machine Learning.

- packaged ML1D as an Electron application that runs python ML models (tensorflow and Pytorch) from a front end coded in Javascript.
